Happy new year 2016! Hope you all had a great time with family and friends, and that 2015 was a great year for you and your loved ones. Let’s begin this year 2016 with more passion, more determination, and more discipline to conquer our dreams! Here’s my first post of the year – hope you enjoy it.
I’ve been to Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan, and can say that they’re all different, and they all have their charm. Hong Kong and Taiwanese people aren’t the same as Chinese people. Not only because their history is different, but because Hong Kong and Taiwan have their own culture, manners, identity and behave differently.
Having been in Taiwan recently, I was able to see that Taiwanese people have a slower pace of life and seem happier when compared to Hong Kong people.
Anyways, traveling around Taipei was a time to learn more about its history on how it fought for independence from not only Japan, but also China. It was also a trip to explore what the city has to offer such as the hundreds, if not thousands, of night markets, food places and bubble tea shops, and many of its memorial halls.
Chiang Kai-Shek and Sun Yat-Sen Memorial halls were definitely some of the highlights. If you ever go to Taipei, you must visit these two places, as well as do the hiking to the Elephant Mountain to have a beautiful look of the city of Taipei and one of the tallest buildings on Earth, Taipei 101. Plus, don’t forget to visit The Ningxia Night Market, Shilin Night Market and others. Make sure you bring cash and a sort of empty stomach.
