On intuition…

I got back to playing competitive soccer recently, so I went down a rabbit hole of learning the new meta, ideas, and tactics being used nowadays. The more I dug, the more I realized that there are no videos or readings that will help me more when I’m in the field than my intuition.

The reason is that I have split seconds to make the right decision based on the finite amount of information I have when I’m playing. So I have to trust my gut feeling. Because no matter how I study the game, I still need to put in the time to practice movements, drills, and tactics to perform them well when the time comes.

Sometimes the difference between making the right or wrong decision comes down to intuition, so trusting ourselves to do the right thing is always right.
