Let it sink in

I’ve been trying a new pair of earphones this week and still can’t and don’t get used to them. They’re wireless, go over my ears, and need to be charged every so often. I dislike them for many reasons: 1) I don’t like objects that need to be charged every day other than my essentials: Nexus and MacBook 2) I don’t enjoy earphones that go over my ears because they’re difficult to take off and put back in. However, I’m willing to give it a second chance.

You might be wondering why. Let me explain.

Most of us are afraid of changes including me some times — as soon as we encounter changes, we mentally block and reject them no matter how they look like. We wouldn’t give it a try, and even if we did we would only try it for a few minutes or hours, but nothing more.

What if we give it a week, let it sink into our routines and habits, and generate a more thorough idea of the change? What if we don’t allow our mind to immediately block and reject change, but to accept and embrace it (at least for a few weeks). It’s sometimes for the better. Try it and let me know what you think.
