One of the many wonderful reasons I enjoy life in major Asian hubs is for their magnificent public transportation. It’s clean, efficient, and always there for you, at least during most of the day.
During my year living abroad in Hong Kong and visiting cities like Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai, Taipei, Singapore…I rarely had to worry about spending any of my attention and energy on driving, being stuck in traffic, looking for parking, paying for gas or the outrageous amount of money for car insurance and other non-sense car related expenses.
Needless to say, never needed to think about restraining myself from going out and staying late, enjoying my one or two drinks and partying all night. The point is: why can’t major cities in the United States, the most advanced country on Earth, have cleaner, more efficient and affordable public transportation?
