Experimenting life

As a human being, I treat my body and life as a laboratory and run self-experiments quite often — most of them have kept going for weeks, months, and even years!

I’ve experimented with cold showers, eating habits, finances, optimizing gym workout routine times/week, writing (this), reading, programming, running, traveling solo with no plans, and most recently with going without a smartphone, mobile device or tablet for twenty-four hours.

Here are the three things I learned:

  1. I get more out of life and worry less about what social media has about to say.
  2. I can focus better, deeper, and for longer periods of time.
  3. I’m not completely dependent on a mobile device (but this might be uncertain).

Running self-experiments have allowed me to create and keep powerful habits in my daily life. I usually start small and for fun.

What about you? Do you have any tricks or tips for creating habits or self-experimentation?
